Ingredients

  • ¼ cup whole star anise pods
  • 5 tablespoons whole cloves
  • 5 tablespoons Szechuan peppercorns
  • 5 tablespoons fennel seed
  • ¼ cup ground cinnamon

Directions

  • Grind the anise pods, cloves, peppercorns, fennel, and cinnamon in a spice mill or with a mortar and pestle to a fine powder. Store in a sealed container in a cool dark place until needed.
