2 cups sifted all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg2 cups rolled oats½ cup packed brown sugar½ cup white sugar1 cup shortening2 eggs⅓ cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup raisins
Directions

Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.Add oatmeal, brown sugar, white sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix together. Stir in 1 cup of chopped walnuts.Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
