Ingredients

1 cup white sugar1 cup packed brown sugar1 egg1 cup vegetable oil1 cup butter½ teaspoon salt1 teaspoon baking soda1 tablespoon milk1 teaspoon cream of tartar1 cup rolled oats⅔ cup flaked coconut1 cup crushed cornflakes cereal1 teaspoon vanilla extract4 cups all-purpose flour
Directions

In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in milk. Cream together the sugars and the egg. Mix in the oil, butter or margarine, baking soda mixture and cream of tartar. Stir in the vanilla, oatmeal, coconut or chopped nuts, corn flakes and flour.Make small balls and flatten them with a greased and flat bottomed glass. Bake 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for about 12-15 minutes.
