Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups raisins
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¾ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ¾ cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats

Directions

  • To Make Filling: Cook over low heat the raisins, sugar, cornstarch, water and lemon juice. Stir until thickened, about 5 minutes. Cool.
  • Mix butter with sugar, add salt, baking soda, and flour, then oats. Press half of the mixture onto a greased pan (13x9x2 ). Spread on filling. Pat remaining crumbs on top.
