2 ½ cups raisins½ cup white sugar2 tablespoons cornstarch¾ cup water3 tablespoons lemon juice1 cup packed brown sugar¾ cup butter½ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon baking soda1 ¾ cups sifted all-purpose flour1 ½ cups rolled oats

To Make Filling: Cook over low heat the raisins, sugar, cornstarch, water and lemon juice. Stir until thickened, about 5 minutes. Cool.Mix butter with sugar, add salt, baking soda, and flour, then oats. Press half of the mixture onto a greased pan (13x9x2 ). Spread on filling. Cut into bars.
